Cobie Smulders Boxes Michael Clark Duncan

cobie-smulders-3.jpgBroken Lizard, the comedy troupe behind such fine cinema as Super Troopers and Beerfest, has a new movie in production called Broken Lizard’s The Slammin’ Salmon”. I smell Oscar…

Alongside Michael Clark Duncan, the movie will star Morgan Fairchild. Lance Henriksen, Vivica A. Fox, and Cobie Smulders. That’s right, our favorite Canadian will be on the big screen.

The movie is set in a Miami restaurant owned by Cleon “Slammin’” Salmon (Michael Clarke Duncan), a brutal former heavyweight boxing champion who institutes a competition to see which waiter can earn the most money in one night. The winner stands to gain $10,000, while the loser will endure a beating at the hands of the champ.

What do we think? I’ve never seen any of these movies so I can’t really speak to their themes or style. I’ll probably check it out just to support Smulders though.

via Moviehole.net, who could really have found a better picture of Cobie.

We think that Michael Clarke Duncan is about to get his ass kicked…..that’s what we think :)
I liked Beerfest and Super Troopers in that “hey I just want to go to a movie and have fun” sort of way, but I never really saw them as revolutionary in the comedic sense. I’ll go see it though.

If you haven’t seen or didn’t enjoy any of Broken Lizard’s greatness you are depriving yourself of some of the greatest collegiate humor in movies this generation. I feel pity for anyone who has not seen either of Beerfest or Super Troopers…
